Over 40 years of experience helping individuals and couples through the human condition barrier that can prolong happiness.
Gary Perrin has worked in the field of Counseling Psychology for over 40 years and has been in private practice for 32 years. He began working with children and families and now sees adolescents and adults in individual, marital and/or family therapy.
In his 32 years of private practice he has been privileged to have served in many different facets of psychology that has greatly broadened his experience and training. He was privileged for 10 years to supervise one of the finest group of psychotherapists in a family based program at Fairview Southdale Hospital. He has supervised the clinical staff in inpatient programs at Fairview University Hospital and served as a consultant to revise their inpatient and outpatient programs. He has been given the opportunity to supervise the clinical staff at three different Chemical Dependency Programs. He also served as clinical supervisor to two outpatient Mental Health Centers. These have all greatly enriched his clinical awareness and ability to address a variety of presenting problems.
Finally he has had the wonderful experience of co-founding two training programs for psychotherapists: the Minnesota Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalytic Studies and the Institute for Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. It has given him the chance to stay on top of current developments in psychotherapy and be challenged by his students to do as he teaches.
